The Self-Sufficiency Job Threshold, Service Job and Export Job
figures for the full cluster and full sector reports are cumulative. In other
words, they are an accumulaton of the totals of all the individual industries
within that specific cluster or sector. Thus, it is possible that there could
be, for example, export jobs originating in one or more detailed industries
within a cluster or sector even though regional employment in the cluster as a
whole does not exceed the Self-Sufficiency Job Threshold. This is done to
recognize the possibility that while a given cluster (or sector) might not be
export-oriented in a given region, one or more detailed industries within a
cluster (or sector) might still be export-oriented.
To get a breakdown of the industries that comprise a full cluster or full
sector, click on the title of any specific cluster or sector. This will open up
a new window that shows the location quotient report for the individual
industries within that specific cluster or sector.
